You need to understand that your existing "folder/subfolder" structure in Lightroom is not the same as a folder/subfolder structure in LrC. In Lightroom, it's a way of organising your existing albums into virtual containers and as such it would be the equivalent of a Collection Set hierarchy in LrC. It is unrelated to the physical storage of the images on local disk.   There is no easy way of migrating that virtual structure from Lightroom into a physical disk-based folder structure, you would be better advised to accept the dated folder structure and instead concentrate on syncing the existing album and folder structure into the equivalent Collection Set/Collection structure in LrC. The easiest way of doing that would be to enable syncing in a new empty LrC catalog (having first set the location for downloaded images and the optional date-based folder structure via the LrC Preferences>Lightroom Sync tab), which will then cause a copy of all the existing images in your cloud account to be downloaded into that new catalog, and placed into the equivalent collection/collection set organisation.  ... It used to work correctly, but hadn't checked for a while. So I checked again after seeing your post and initially there were no issues with LrWeb, LrDesktop and LrM on iPad.....but the notifications did NOT initially appear in LrM for iOS. I waited several days with nothing happening and was about to respond to you along those lines but made one final check first. And of course the notifications are now showing! No idea why it took so long. I tested again, and this time they appeared fairly soon after sending.    I guess that's not very helpful for you if you're still not getting them, but it does appear that the notification system is still working albeit not very reliably in terms of speed. ... They might have originated from Lr Mobile on your phone or tablet. With only 2 dozen images to check, you can look at the info panel for each image which will tell you which camera took the picture, and when it was taken. There should be enough clues there to figure out the origin.    Also. if you click on All Photos in the Lightroom Desktop app, then click on the Filter Bar icon at the end of teh Search Bar, select the Sync Status option and that should reveal if the images are "Synced and Backed Up" (which would mean these are originals uploaded from one of the Lightroom app) or "Synced from Lightroom Classic" which would mean they are Smart Previews synced up from a (previous) Lightroom Classic catalog. ... The search box is designed to search the existing images in your catalog, so it's no surprise that it won't find any images that haven't yet been added to the catalog.    To import new images from your desktop, you use the "Add Photos" button which is near the top of the left-hand panel. That opens a file browser which will allow you to select the images or folders from your desktop.   If you don't see the Add Photos button, confirm that you are using the "Cloud" tab, not the "Local" tab (top left-hand corner of the Lightroom window).    If you still can't see the "Add Photos" button, please post a screenshot of the Lightroom window so that we can figure out what might be happening. ... I'm not sure what you mean when you say that you cannot load any pictures or catalog system on the new system. You should simply be able to log into your Adobe account using the CC Desktop app on the new system, start Lightroom Desktop and your local catalog will automatically be recreated using your master cloud-based catalog. Assuming your cloud syncing was fully up-to-date on the old system, you should have no trouble setting up the app on the new system.   ... View more

It's also possible to share directly from a synced collection in Lightroom Classic, without have to use any of the cloud-centric Lightroom apps. There are various ways to do this, but if you have access to LrC and you have sufficient storage space on your local system to (temporarily) store a 2 x copies of all the images in your Adobe cloud, then you could do the following:   1. Make sure you are logged into your student account on your desktop computer, then start LrC and create a new empty catalog (if you've not used LrC before on that system a new catalog will automatically be created). 2. Set the location for synced images to a hard drive that has enough space via the LrC Preferences>Lightroom Sync tab. 3. Then enable sync in the LrC catalog (click on the cloud icon top right to see the Start Syncing button). 4. LrC will then gradually download a copy of all the images that are in your Student cloud account, which will preserve all edits, flags and ratings and collections (albums in cloud speak).....BUT it will NOT preserve keywords and location data, so if you have used these extensively you might prefer to use a different method. 5. Assuming you are happy with the download, log out of the Student account via the CC Desktop app, and log in to your new account. Then start the Lightroom Desktop app and use the catalog migration tool to migrate the LrC catalog. 5. The migration copies all the LrC catalog contents to a local drive (which is why you need 2 x the space), then will upload to the cloud, preserving all edits, flags, ratings and will create albums from the synced collections. 6. Once all is complete, you can delete the LrC catalog and the associated images. The second copy inside the Lightroom Desktop space should gradually reduce in size unless you have chosen to store a local copy of all originals ion the Lightroom Preferences. ... View more

Have you checked your cloud contents by using the browser-based LrWeb app (login into lightroom.adobe.com using your Adobe ID)? That should show show exactly what you have stored in the cloud. If, as you think, there are way more that those 906 photos, then that means trying to figure out why the Lightroom apps aren't seeing them (though that screenshot indicates that syncing IS happening, so it maybe just a matter of time). ... On a sepereate note but that occurred at about the same time, in the Editing tab my program suddenly only lets me have one subsection open at a time meaning I can't have Light, Color, Effects, etc. all open at once to quickly edit photos. When I open one it automatically closes another.
